BELARUS ALSO HAS SUCH AN AGREEMENT
- Armenian and Russian manufacturing companies will sign new agreements on cooperation in the sphere of military production. Framework agreements on cooperation between the Packaging Factory in Charentsavan and the Russian Uralvagonzavod Factory were signed during the Armenian-Russian joint session of the CSTO Military-Economic Cooperation Interstate Commission held in Yerevan today and it is envisaged to establish a total of 7 enterprises.
"The agreement envisages the organizing of service for ammunition and military technical equipment," CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov told journalists. The memorandum on partnership signed in August 2010 envisages the establishment of joint enterprises involved in serving and renovating military technical equipment in Armenia. The CSTO Deputy Secretary General mentioned that the cooperation between both countries would have a positive impact on Armenia.
In his turn, Secretary of the RA National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan informed that the sides would sign a comprehensive inter-governmental agreement on military-technical cooperation.
"The agreement will provide the opportunity to circumvent all legal and legislative obstacles so that the military production enterprises of Armenia and Russia manage to communicate with each other directly," said Baghdasaryan.
The NSC Secretary underlined that Russia only has an agreement like this with Belarus.
