SAFARYAN WAS SURPRISED

Member of the "Heritage" faction, parliamentarian and member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of Francofonia Stepan Safaryan sent a letter to NA Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan. The "Heritage" deputy preparing to take part in the parliamentary assembly to be held on July 3-8 in Paris was surprised to see that his name was not on the list of deputies leaving for the assembly. His tickets and hotel accomodations have not been paid for based on the decree of the NA Chairman. However, representatives of the ARF and Prosperous Armenia parties Armen Rustamyan and Armen Melikyan are also members of the delegation and have the tickets and necessary documents. The letter by Stepan Safaryan reads: "All delegations and friendship groups have been established immediately following the convention of the fourth National Assembly. I particularly have been confirmed as member of the Armenian delegation to the parliamentary assembly of Francofonia, which also includes Armen Rustamyan (ARF), Ara Babloyan (Republican Party of Armenia), Hovhannes Margaryan (Country of Law) and Armen Melikyan (Prosperous Armenia)," as stated in the letter by Stepan Safaryan. I had informed Chief of Staff of the National Assembly Gegham Gharibjanyan of my willingness to participate in the subsequent session of the parliamentary assembly of Francofonia to be held on July 3-8 in Paris a week ago. However, when I asked the department of international relations of the staff of the NA to give me my tickets, required documents and draft reports, to my surprise I found out that only Armen Rustamyan and Armen Melikyan had tickets. I also found out that the secretary of my delegation had already been in Strasbourg for a long time and was going to leave for Paris from there. The protocol department also informed me that the tickets had been ordered and purchased by your command and my name was not on the list. I ask you to please clarify that. I would like to let you know that I am fluent in French and I expect you to take rapid measures to purchase the tickets and provide the working trip and hotel accomodations within two days under my name and last name in order for me to carry out my duties at the parliamentary assembly of Francofonia, which is considered to be a part of my work at the National Assembly."
