ARF parliamentarian Artsvik Minasyan doesn't believe that the police officers who used the "Cheryomukha-7" device can have anything new to say to the NA ad-hoc committee leading the investigation into the events of March 1-2. Member of the ad-hoc committee Naira Zohrabyan is planning to call the police officers to the National Assembly, but the committee members have already had a chance to meet with the police officers at their headquarters. "We have already received the answers to many questions, starting from the proportions of the weapon and ending with how well the police worked on March 1. I think it is nonsensical to call the officers to parliament after all this," said Mr. Minasyan to "A1+". According to him, the police were totally unorganized on March 1. He also told "A1+" that the committee was not successful in extending a hand to the society, although it did promise that the identity of the eyewitnesses would not be revealed. As for the murders, Minasyan finds that it would be possible to reveal the crimes, if the corresponding preliminary investigative body had enough will. "Of course, they don't have the desire, but there must be a demand from the society to reveal the cases." Minasyan attaches importance to the materials procured by the fact-finding group and finds that they will have a positive impact on the revelation of the events of March 1. He doesn't see the recreation of the fact-finding group, saying that the revelation of the events of March 1 would have been more effective if the members of the already disbanded fact-finding group had agreed to work in the NA ad-hoc committee in the first place. Talking about the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly's (PACE) Resolution 1677 on the events of March 1, Minasyan said that although amnesty was evaluated as one of the pivotal demands of the Council of Europe that was met, the CE is currently focusing on the NA ad-hoc committee and if it really trusts the committee, it must support it and even send international experts. Minasyan is certain that all international organizations, including the PACE, will use the events of March 1 against Armenia for their own interests. "The events of March 1 were wrong for our country, our people and every Armenian. Everybody is going to use that against us, but we must not let them do that."
