OUR ARMY IS THE MOST EFFICIENT IN THE REGION

On the hundredth day of office Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian referred to his achievements, failures and further steps.
During the press conference A1+ wondered whether it is that difficult to expose the perpetrators of the March 1 events and the one who had ordered to open fire at people.
“Not a bit. But it is not upon me to cope with the task. The Police and the Prosecutor’s Office deal with the matter,” said Mr. Ohanian.
In reply to A1+’s another question whether one can fire without an order, the Armenian Defense Minister said: “It depends on circumstances. A shot can be fired with a notice if a violation has been reported or without it if an attack is made upon servicemen and policemen.”
Asked whether Armenia’s troops are still the most efficient in the region, Ohanian said: “Undoubtedly, our army remains the most efficient in the region today. The army is prospering day by day. Moreover, our army has a great experience. It has passed a long path and has characteristics typical of great armies in the world. No matter how rich the technical base of the army is, a soldier remains a key actor. Due to our servicemen we have won a glorious victory. The equilibrium is maintained in the region thanks to the fighting spirit of our soldiers.”
