“I CANNOT SHAKE THE BLOODY HAND”

Today a group of political prisoners demanded Serzh Sargssian’s resignation. “You cannot crown yourself by violating our right of voting. Though you were able to keep power through force and blood, you did not manage to break our patriotic and challenging spirit,” the statement went.
The committee for the protection of political prisoners today invited former political prisoners to discuss the ways of supporting those detained for their political views. Zhirayr Sefilian, former Commander of “Shushi” special battalion, noted how important it was that their friends feel the support of society and their companions.
Ex-political prisoner Gor Sargssian suggested uniting the children of all the political prisoners and organizing protest actions. He is sure it does not mean abusing children, as they are not engaged in politics and simply present their wishes and desires.
Another political prisoner Yerjanik Abgarian referred to the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition. “How can we start a dialogue with a murderer? I cannot shake that bloody hand. They are all traitors and one cannot come to terms with a traitor.”
