A WARNING HUNGER-STRIKE IN HRAZDAN
Today Karabakh War Veteran Arshavir Bozinian went on a three-day warning hunger-strike in Vanatur District, Hrazdan. Zhanna Nersisian, mother of another Karabakh War veteran has joined him. They demand that Sasun Mikayelian and other detainees of March 1 events are set free. Since Vantur is Sasun Mikayelian’s birthplace, the hunger-strikers continue the protest action there.
“If the authorities do not satisfy our demands today, the whole Vanatur will join us in three days. It is only on my request that they have agreed to wait”, warned Arshavir Bozinian again. As he informed “A1+” the local police had made no attempt to hold back the protest.
Bozinian also stated that the Karabakh War veterans whom the local police had taken into custody favoured him too. “They were under house arrest until they ceased the hunger-strike. I have asked them not to join me till April 24. If the authorities do not meet our demands the protest action will be removed to Yerevan.”
Bozinian has also warned a representative of an international institute of his intention to transfer the protest action to Yerevan, near the Embassies.
