“WE DO NOT NEED YOUR FLOWERS!”

Today the relatives of the recent detainees held a protest action near the Procurator's Office. Dressed in black, the protestants grouped near the building holding the detainees' portraits and posters with an inscription, “Release the detainees!”
“We don't need your flowers. How dare you give us flowers after taking our husbands under arrest? Your impertinence has no bounds. Take these flowers to Serzh Sarkissian and Robert Kocharian. If they were real gentlemen, they wouldn't fear our husbands and flung them into prison,” they said and threw the flowers sent by Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepian on the pavement.
They weren't given a chance to hand a letter directly to the Prosecutor General.
“We were denied access even to the reception room. We were told to drop the letter into the letter-box and leave the area,” said a woman.
Today, another group of people crowded near the Procurator's Office. They had arrived from Aparan in defense of the detained MP Miasnik Malkhasian.
“Miasnik is a brilliant and kind person. We are ready to any sacrifice for him. Unlike Serzh Sarkissian and Robert Locharian, he has always given a hand to us both in sorrow and happiness,” they said.
“There are three traitors in Armenia –Robert Kocharian, Serzh Sarkissian and Arthur Baghdasarian. They must bear full responsibility for the March 1 bloody events. I don’t fear them. People advise me to keep silent but I want to speak up. Why and whom should I fear? Will they murder or hang me? I have nothing to lose,” said a Yerevan resident Seda Aghayan. Although none of her relations is detained, Seda continues to struggle like many others.
“We repeat the words of our detained relatives- “struggle till the end.” The power lies with people in the Republic of Armenia, and none of the top-officials has the right to dictate us,” said Smbat Aivazian’s daughter Tatevik.
“April 7 is the Day of Maternity and Beauty. Instead of holding flowers we are carrying the pictures of our husbands and sons. We dedicate our holiday to them and urge the authorities to set them free,” said Knarik Khachatrian, the wife of Arshak Banuchian, Deputy Head of the Matenadaran.
“My brother is sued for his political orientation. We expect the worst from these authorities,” said Masis Aivazian’s sister.
An elderly women repeated, “How will Serzh Sarkissian swear an oath on the St. Book. He has born responsibility neither for the March 1 events nor for the October 27 terrorist act.
Afterwards, the protestants held a funeral march along Northern Avenue and lowered the posters of their relatives upon the request of policemen.
