“RF BEARS RESPONSIBILITY”
Today four representatives of the Conservative Party staged a protest action at the Russian Embassy with a single poster, “Silent agreement can’t be justified”. The reason for the demonstration was the recent meeting of Serzh Sarkissian and Vladimir Putin during which the Armenian PM had thanked the RF President for assistance to Armenia’s pre-election period.
According to Tatul Mkrtchian, Executive Secretary of the Conservative Party Council, “as Russia doesn’t react, we are entitled to state that Russia partially bears responsibility for the illegal actions, distortions, detentions and violations committed at the election and post-election periods.” “We demand that Russia, as our strategic partner, break the silence and duly assess current situation. Otherwise, we shall call our people to reconsider their traditional attitude towards Russia”, stated Tatul Mkrtchian.
The Organizers of the protest action handed a written message to the Russian Embassy in Armenia. Note that the Embassy security was trying to disperse the small group of protestants.
By the way, few people were engaged in the protest action since, by their own interpretation, it wasn’t a public event. “As you know the municipality doesn’t allow mass demonstrations, so we decided to have it in such a format”, explained Tatul Mkrtchian.
