"IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW HE WAS KILLED"

Today Armenian citizen Robert Mirzoyan came to the "Armenia-Marriot" Hotel to meet OYP Leader Arthur Baghdasaryan. Mirzoyan's son, Gegham Sergoyan, was killed in a military unit a year ago. One of the officers shot him dead for not wearing a hat and a belt.
Robert Mirzoyan had spoken to the OYP leader about his son's death during the pre-election campaign in Masis. After hearing mys story Arthur Baghdasaryan said that he had no lever and added that the main reason he ran for president is to eredicate such illegal phenomena. Today he is a top-level official and I came to know whether he remembers his words. But I wasn't even allowed to come nearer. I was told to visit him after April 9. I wonder what measures they are going to take to combat these illegal tortures and vandalism, said Robert Mirzoyan.
Robert Mirzoyan has already turned to all state bodies, political forces but he has got no answer from them. Mirzoyan is confident that his son was severely beaten and killed. "My son's jaw was broken. No investigation has been conducted in this respect. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office of Eghegnadzor. I want to know the real reasons for my son's death. I want a fair investigation."
The father had arranged a meeting with the Chairman of the Appellate Court Hovhannes Manukyan.
"An Armen Harutyunyan, a cheif expert, received me instead of Hovhannes Manukyan. After telling him my story for half an hour I came to realise that there was no point in expecting anything.
"What's the difference-whether your son's jaw was broken or not? The point is that he was murdered. It doesn't matter how he was killed."
Robert Mirzoyan says he has been promised a meeting with Serzh Sarkisyan. "I tried to hand a letter to Serzh Sarkisyan when he visited Masis but the policemen forced me off."
