SERGE SARGSYAN WILL BE TOLERANT UNTIL…

Today the RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby and the delegation headed by him - the head of the European Commission’s Delegation to Armenia Raul de Luzenberger, Representative of the EU Commission Sylvie Bavelaar, EU Special Political Advisor on South Caucasus issues Andrei Didenko, as well as French Ambassador to Armenia Serge Smesov.
The EU Special Representative congratulated the RA Prime Minister with the presidential election in Armenia, considering the election the most essential factor for the maintenance of democracy. According to Semneby, the presidential election proves that pluralism is established in Armenia and it is a progress. Pointing out that the EU prioritized the election in Armenia and followed the whole election process, the organization would pay a particular attention to the post-election developments as well. The EU Special Representative informed that he had a number of meetings last week with the political representatives of the authorities and opposition and presented the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana’s forward to all concerned parties, to avoid violations, act within the frames of law and to forward the political energy to the constructive powers in the country. In this regard he prioritized Serge Sargsyan’s recent appeal to collaborate and be tolerant.
The RA Prime Minister confirmed his willingness to collaborate with the powers who wished to contribute to the well-being of our nation and state and for its strengthening. Serge Sargsyan ensured that the authorities did their best so that the post-election processes did not harm our citizens, the country’s reputation. “We will be extremely tolerant, until that tolerance is abused and will have negative outcomes”, said Serge Sargsyan.
Serge Sargsyan presented Armenian-Turkish relations as well as the approaches toward the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, which was published a number of times and presented to the public during the pre-election campaign and had not altered yet.
