TER-PETROSYAN GAVE 10 DAYS TO WEST

The RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is discontent with the behavior of international observation missions. “Their behavior is formal. They are engaged only in arithmetic. They treat the elections as a system, which began on 23 October 2007 by discrimination of my supporters. Today’s detentions, searches and police’s misdeeds prove that some people have wrong assumptions on our nation. I confirm once again that they are aliens”, declared Levon Ter-Petrsoyan from the platform in the Liberty Square.
Ter-Petrosyan reminded those who said that they had not observed anything on the election day: “This process lasts 4 months. We should regard the election from this stance. Elections should be regarded by today’s searches and detentions”.
He reminded the violations against proxies and observers on 19 February. According to him, it is disgraceful not to see all these occurrences. Ter-Petrosyan also reflected on the mission of the OSCE observers during the RA presidential elections.
“Some CIS states, including Armenia, have serious complaints against the OSCE. The states, their governments are discontent with the OSCE and they have raised the issue of reforming the OSCE,- said the First President,- The OSCE and its observation missions should take into consideration the nation’s complaints rather than the governments. Our complaints may harm the reputation of the observation mission. The observation missions, the West should not have a formal behavior toward the recent happenings in Armenia”.
Ter-Petrosyan considers that Armenia’s democratization process is in the hands of the US, EU, CoE, OSCE representatives. “Within 10 days the mentioned structures will have either a legal, democratic and civil country like Lithuania, or a backward country, like the most backward countries in Middle East and Asia. This is the alternative, - declared Levon Ter-Petrosyan,- This can be obtained within 10 days. To obtain this the West should only respect our nation. Thus, the West, Western countries and structures, as well as US organizations should make the following decision – either they are with the Armenian nation, which means democracy, free market economy, or they are with the Armenian state of bandits”.
