POLICEMEN ASSAULTED ON A JOURNALIST AGAIN

Today, in the Liberty Square the policemen assaulted on the photojournalist of “Aravot” and “Chorrord Ishkhanutyun” newspapers Gagik Shamshyan and hindered his professional obligations. Lieutenant Arayik Petrosyan, who assaulted on the photojournalist, is famous for his intolerable attribute toward journalists. He fell on Gagik Shamshyan, since the latter, according to the policeman, was taking wrong photos. Arayik Petrosyan scolded Shamshyan, who responded in the same manner, and assaulted on him. The policeman tore Gagik’s coat, injured his face and tried to take away his photo camera. Another policeman Robert Melkonyan joined his colleague Arayik.
“Melkonyan’s nickname is Bazaz. He was dismissed from the system in 1996 for defaming police’s reputation. This information was published in “02” weekly and announced during the”02” TV program. He was deputy head of police in Mashtots regions and tried to bribe some officials for the post of the head of the police.
