“THIS IS A POLITICAL TERROR”
The Press Secretary of Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s pre-election headquarters Arman Musinyan does not understand on what grounds their supporters are arrested. “For example, Khachatur Sukiasyan’s car was searched illegally. It was a deputy’s car and they had not right to search it. They have found a gun, which was acquired on legal basis, they have found a body amour which the person had the right to wear and protect himself”, said Musinyan. Arman Musinyan ensured that the weapons of other detained people were also legal. The pre-election headquarter has appealed to the Human Rights Defender. “We have appealed to him with some problems and he has responded in some cases. Yesterday we appealed to him for the closure of our pre-election headquarters. Mr Harutyunyan has promised to respond”.
Reflecting on Yerevan Municipality’s declarations allegedly the territory of the Liberty Square is polluted by the participants of the sit-down strike, Musinyan said: “Our volunteers clean the territory every day. Besides, the police prohibit the community employees to clean the territory. But our volunteers clean the territory every morning”.
Musinyan prioritized Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s meeting with the chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Yan Kubish: “I think that Yan Kubish is aware of the situation in Armenia. We have overcome the information blockade the authorities had established for us. I consider that the European, American and Russian authorities are informed of the situation in Armenia. The fact that Yan Kubish declared yesterday that violation was forbidden; that the use of force on the nation was excluded was already a response to the situation”. Musinyan confirmed the information that searches were carried out all over the Republic. “This is a political terror. The authorities have nothing sacred in regard with law”. According to the Press Secretary, the apartment of the former deputy head of the National Security Service Gurgen Yeghiazaryan is blockaded currently.
