Armenia's First President addressed the rally at Liberty Square today.
“Many of you continue the struggle of 1988. Today we pursue the same aim. We struggle for the sake of the Republic of Armenia, democracy, free market economy and liberation of Artsakh,” he said.
Levon Ter-Petrossian says our objectives are as actual as they were in 1988. “Today the independence of the country is again in peril. The gap will still deepen if Serzh Sarkissian manages to wield this Tartar- Mongolian power.”
“I assure you that Serzh Sarkissian's endeavours are doomed to failure as you will hamper him. Everything depends on you. Everything depends on people rallied at this square.”
Over the past 3-4 months we have managed to shape a new society which will no longer endure violence, autocracy and torture. The fundaments of the society are very firm. No matter how hard Serzh Sarkissian tries he won't be able to rule this conscious society.
Levon Ter-Petrossian spoke of democracy and civil society, stating that “a new quality of society has been shaped during this movement. Today's students are the pillar of tomorrow's free Armenia” He asked the students to be armed with patience and miss classes for one or two weeks as they will soon live a dignified and proud life in a new country.
Reminder, Levon Ter-Petrossian is going to appeal to the Constitutional Court to recognise the election outcome invalid.
