SERZH SARKISSIAN-PRESIDENT
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Armenia declared Serzh Sarkissian Armenia’s third President. The decision was signed by 6 CEC members.
CEC members from Heritage and OYP parties set up a boycott against the decision.
Under a CEC decision an estimated of 1 671 027 people participated at the election. Territorial electoral commissions had been given 2 390 000 ballot papers.
According to the CEC, Serzh Sarkissian has gained 862 369 votes, Levon Ter-Petrossian-351 222 and Arthur Baghdasarian-272 427.
CEC Chairman Garegin Azarian congratulated Armenian people on Serzh Sarkissian’s victory.
