Today the crowded gathering was followed by a march in the streets of the capital. “Levon Ter-Petrosyan is the victorious president. Levon Ter-Petrosyan will defeat the functioning authorities”, declared the Leader of “Aylyntrank” (Alternative) initiative Nikol Pushinyan. “Yes” exclaimed the participants of the march. “Serge, leave, Serge, leave” - was heard more frequently.
The length of the march was 2 thousand 600 meters. The Yerevan Municipality allowed the march to last only 25 minutes, and when the head of the march passed Mashtots, Grigor Lusavorich, Italian, Nalbandyan, Tumanyan streets and reached the Liberty Square, the tail of the march was on Grigor Lusavorich Street. On the way, laborers working on buildings joined the participants of the march with “Levon, Levon” exclamations.
About 40 minutes the organizers of the gathering and the march were waiting for the participants to return to the Square. And as many people returned to the Square, as many participated in the gathering. During those 40 minutes, the young people danced Armenian national dances under the nation music, even those standing on the platform also could hardly help dancing. “Congratulations, we have won”, declared the Leader of the “People’s Party of Armenia” Stepan Demirchyan. And you could hear “Demirchyan, Demirchyan” exclamations in the Square.
The RA First President Levon Ter-Petrsoyan announced that if the authorities made an attempt to rig the elections, in the result of which Serge Sargsyan would win, none of them would go home started from 20 February “until we gain our victory and defend our country”. His words were followed with long-lasting applauds, which meant willingness to fight to the end.
