“EMBASSY SOWS SEEDS”

The upcoming presidential election will hardly affect Armenia-India relations. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, states that the diplomatic relations established between the two countries eleven years ago are still strengthening.
“I think that all changes will better Armenia’s life. No matter who becomes Armenia’s next president, I am sure he will boost bilateral relations and effect reforms in the country. I see Armenia as a prosperous and democratic country in the future. The country already holds the fifth election and voters should fully realise their role and rights in the procedure.”
Armenia and India have always supported each other in international structures. Commodity circulation between the two countries surpassed $24 million in 2007. Indian businessmen are expected to arrive in Armenia this year. During the meeting reference will be made to the opening of a centre of information technologies in Armenia.
India’s Government warmly receives Armenian businessmen who participate in annual fairs and exhibitions. The Embassy is aimed at sowing seeds to grow into huge trees in the course of time,” said the Ambassador.
By the way, Armenian students are welcome to study different subjects in India, such as space technology, diplomacy, principles of mass media, etc. Armenia intends to invite a specialist of the Hindi language this year. Students can master the language in India as well.
“I wish the Year of Armenia were celebrated in India and vice versa. The Day of India was celebrated in Gyumri in 2007. This year we shall celebrate it in Vanadzor, Goris and Meghri. We hope that the event will be ongoing. In general, such ideas are spontaneous and receive positive feedback.
Over 700 Indian students study in Armenia today. They like the country and have got used to local people. I don’t think they encounter any problems. As of the incident with the Rector of Medical University, Gohar Kyalian, I must say that she was newly elected then and each change or initiative at that period is doomed to failure and leads to delude. Today our students realise that such changes are necessary, they should do well and participate at the exams,” Rina Pandey said.
