“Generally, scandalous cases, like that of October 27, aren't kept in the Justice Ministry,” Lana Mshetsian, Press Secretary for the Justice Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, told A1+.
She says that great losses were inflicted on Deputy Minister Gevorg Kostanian. The latter represents Armenia at the European Court.
The archive of personal files and work-record books has burnt down in the result of the fire. A commission has been set up to tackle the problem. Most notary ocuments and the archive of the civilian registrar's are saved.
To note, a fire-fighting brigade is still working on the site.
Reminder: a fire broke out at the premises of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia on the night of February 8. About 30 fire-engines arrived at the site to extinguish the fire.

Today in Armenian history- 1818 Birth of Anton Garagashyan (historian) in Constantinople. He died in 1903.
- 1829 Alexander Griboyedov, Russian Ambassador in Iran, poet and a friend of the Armenians, falls victim to Fateh-Ali Shah's brutal attack.
- 1841 Birth of Patriarch Malachia Ormanyan in Constantinople. He died in 1918.
- 1882 Birth of Garsoev (Garsoyan). He was a military figure, and a Professor of Naval Science. His rank was Captain, Second Level.
- 1884 Birth of Ashkharabek Kalantar (Lorees Kalantar) in Ardvee (Loree Province). Thanks to this professor of armenology, archeology, and history, many scholarly materials, including Anee's archeological collections, have survived.
- 1936 Birth of Paulo Cuneo, Italian architect and art critic. He was one of the founders of the Medieval Armenian Architecture Department at Rome University.
