WILL SERGE SARGYAN MAKE A DIGNIFIED STEP?
The participants of the meeting started a march after the meeting of the First President was over. Levon Ter-Petrosyan headed the participants of the march. They walked from the Liberty Square to Mathenadaran, then walked to Abovyan Street and returned to the Square. Before Ter-Petrosyan made a speech, people began dancing and celebrating Ter-Petrosyan’s victory.
“My nations, you made me make a speech twice today. This meeting and the march have proved that we will overcome all obstacles. There is certain distinction now between the noble, free, brave citizen, the Armenian nation and the rascal of the nation”, said Levon Ter-Petrosyan. He reminded that he was one the heads of 1988 movement and noted: “The movement of 1988 was the movement of mature men and women. But majority of the participants of today’s meeting are young people. This is the movement of young people and I am proud to lead the Armenian youth and the movement of our country’s future”.
Ter-Petrosyan continued: “Today’s meeting proved the importance of the following problem; whether Serge Sargsyan is able to do a noble thing in his life. Seeing you, will he be able to withdraw his candidature?” The participants of the gathering did not allow Ter-Petrosyan continue his speech and cried: “Serge, leave. Serge, leave”. Then Ter-Petrosyan continued: “Now we’ll see whether he has the dignity to respond to your request”.
Ter-Petrosyan reminded that 10 days were left to the final victory of the fight. “On 19 February you will have to vote realizing one thing – you are the owners of this country, you are the free citizens of this country and you will not allow anyone violate your free will. I am confirmed that no one can suppress this dignified nation. You, please, carry out your duty, I and my friends will spare on effort to carry out our obligation”. Ter-Petrosyan wished good night to the participants and promised to meet on 16 February at 15.00 in the Liberty Square.
