“WHO EMPOWERED YOU TO SURRENDER TERRITORIES?”

“We must win the presidential election. We must win for the sake of the Artsakh veterans and for the sake of the Armenian people,” ARF Dashnaktsutiun member Hrant Margarian said at Liberty Square on February 8.
“They dispute over the liberated territories and want to surrender them. Who has empowered them to surrender territories? No Armenian will let them surrender any territory. They only malign each other and seem to have forgotten about Azerbaijan's role and stance towards the Karabakh conflict.”
Hrant Margarian condemned both the former and the present authorities. “The ARF Dashnaktsutiun is against extremes and adventures. The Artsakh conflict should be settled through peaceful negotiations on the basis of mutual concessions without endangering our security, dignity and Motherland.
Both the resolution of the Karabakh conflict and the outcome of the forthcoming election depend on the Armenian people. We rely on Armenians. They are able to distinguish between black and white. We want stability and not stagnancy. We want changes and not shocks. Let’s change the present with joint efforts. If the power is an end in itself, authorities exert administrative levers. They rely on the state apparatus and “influential” people who can ensure further reproduction.”
Hrant Margarian unfolded the reasons for oligarchs’ vote tampering. “In our reality oligarchs become tools for authorities, starting from a top-level official to a back-street hooligan. As a result, oligarchs exercise certain privileges. They boost corruption, illegality and permissiveness in the country and ban free competition. We shall break up a state monopoly.
Vahan Hovhannissian is capable of administering justice in the country. The former and present authorities hardly differ with regard to their attitude towards people. Do restrain yourselves and don’t run to extremes. We shall not let you carry on vicious intrigues,” said Hrant Margarian.
