“I APOLOGISE FOR MY SINS”

“I won’t ask anyone for votes. I won’t beg anything. That is no concern of mine,” former President Levon Ter-Petrossian said during today’s meeting with residents of Artik.
Levon Ter-Petrossian’s team left for Shirak Marz early in the morning. The first President was escorted by his proponents and the leaders of supporting parties.
Over 200 people gathered in the settlement of Pemzashen at 10 a.m. At the beginning of the meeting Levon Ter-Petrossian begged his pardon for gathering people in the cold and reminded that the Armenians would face a dilemma in a month - either to vote for the acting authorities’ reproduction or to build up a dignified country.
The former President laid a wreath to the memorial to Mantash victims.
2500 people gathered in Artik to meet the former President. HZhK Leader Stepan Demirchian grounded for his support to Levon Ter-Petrossian during his speech.
Leader of “Hanrapetutiun” (Republic) Party Aram Sargsian stated that Serzh Sarkissian is a dangerous man guilty of the October 27 parliamentary carnage while Ter-Petrossian is a wise person.
“I know that I thwarted your hopes during my office. You felt bitter disappointment and displeasure. Most of you criticized my political course. I do understand you and share your opinion. And if you think I stumbled in anything I apologise for my sins and mistakes,” Levon Ter-Petrossian said in Artik.
The first President started his campaign from Shirak Marz where Robert Kocharian sustained crushing defeats in 1998 and 2003.
“When a thief is out of danger he becomes courageous. Once he feels danger he becomes coward and fears Doomsday,” Ter-Petrossian said with regard to the acting authorities.
An elderly man posed a question about the robbery committed during Ter-Petrossian’s presidency. In reply to this, Levon Ter-Petrossian said “only eight directors were dismissed while there were over 2000 enterprises in Armenia. The rumors about the robbery are mere disinformation,” he said.
