“NO ARMENIAN WILL SATISFY TURKEY’S ASPIRATIONS”

“Do not take the viewpoints of Turkey and Azerbaijan for granted no matter which candidate they second,” Kiro Manoyan advised people believing that Turkey seconds Ter-Petrossian as the country nurses great hopes from the former president.
Turkey never believed Armenia would become an independent country. They wish Armenia to weaken and become obedient. I am more than convinced that no Armenian would ever meet Turkey’s aspirations.
Today the head of the ARF Dashnaktsutiun Bureau’s Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office voiced hope that sooner or later Turkey will have to recognise the Armenian Genocide. The recent polls in Turkey come to testify that over 7% think that the country had better recognise the historical event and condemn the 1915 mass killings. 34% of the respondents have indifferent stance to the matter: it is all the same to them whether the country will recognise the genocide or not.
“This is really a step forward,” Kiro Manoyan says.
He does not share the opinion that Resolution 106 is but a failure.
The White House forced the co-authors of the resolution to delay the vote. We expected the resolution to be discussed by the turn of the year or by the end of the Congress session. The office will double its efforts and urge the congressmen to bring the resolution to a vote. Kiro Manoyan thinks that the delay is also determined by Turkey's blackmail imposed on the USA.
According to Mr Manoyan, the 2008 presidential elections in the USA will greatly contribute to the vote.
It is due to mention that the U.S. presidential elections are due in November, 2008.
