AREN'T THEY MALE?

“The deputies withdrew from their word,” complained Rafik Petrosyan, the Head of the Commission on State and Legal Issues of the NA, during the debates on the amendments to the Electoral Code.
This refers to the parties which agreed to the 41:90 electoral proportion but later supported the proposal of having 100-percent proportional system, thus “putting the commission into inconvenience” in Mr. Petrosyan's opinion.
The above-mentioned proposal was supported by “Justice,” “National Unity,” “Orinats Yerkir,” and “United Labour” parties.
While speaking of the amendments to the Electoral Code, Rafik Petrosyan said that we shall have legal authorities only in case the elections are not fabricated and there are no election frauds. By the way, Mr. Petrosyan doesn't approve of the 100-percent proportional system as, in his words, there are not perfect parties in Armenia. Besides, the deputies elected by majoritarian system do more things for the public than those elected by proportional system.
