FADEY SARGSYAN WANT TO LEAVE “CLEAN”

It was supposed that the chairman of the National Academy of Science Fadey Sargsyan convened a press conference today to announce about his retirement. The reason was the accusations of academician Henry Nersisyan which consisted of 13 points and were directed against the activity of Fadey Sargsyan.
At the mentioned hour all the academicians and the representatives of the Mass Media were gathered in the Academy, but instead of the press conference an enlarged NAS session was held during which the report of the Committee which was created to investigate the accusations was heard. According to the report, academician Henry Nersisyan's accusations were groundless and there were no violations in the management, financial and other fields. As for how the Committee has done its work, it can be clear by the following example.
One of the accusations is that the area of the NAS library has been illegally allotted to a citizen called R. Manoukyan for ten years. Now there is a private shop in that area. The head of the Committee Yuri Chilingaryan informed that they have investigated all the documents and made sure that everything is legal. Nevertheless, academician Chilingaryan could not hide the fact that Manoukyan has been allotted only an area of 12 square meters, but the shop is build on an area of 60 square meters. So, all the 13 accusations were refuted with suchlike lawfulness.
By the way, during the session one had the impression that the academicians have come with the sole aim of “taking an oath of loyalty” to the NAS chairman. Everyone tried to have the floor for at least a minute in order to thank Fadey Sargsyan. In answer to the accusation of having appropriated the grant of 210 thousand USD given by the head of the Union of Armenians in Russia Ara Abrahamyan someone said the money had been given to Fadey Sargsyan personally and he could do what he wanted with it.
When it came to the illegal sale of the buildings in Tsakhkadzor, Fadey Sargsyan shouted several times he has not sold anything. When asked whom the area previously belonging to NAS belongs to today, he answered, «I don't know whom it belongs to».
So an attempt was made to officially refute all the accusations against the NAS chairman. After the report one of the academicians mentioned that they have made sure Fadey Sargsyan is innocent and they voice hope after it he will not go to court. «Please do not speak on behalf of me», Fadey Sargsyan answered.
