CE CHANGED NOTHING IN THE LIFE OF ARMENIA
According to the majority of the RA residents, the membership of Armenia to the Council of Europe did not have any positive influence on the republic and on the population. The “A1+” website tried to find out by means of a poll what we have gained from the 5-year membership. {BR}
462 readers have participated in the poll. Only 12.1% of them feel progress in Armenia after becoming member of CE. If we exclude the 2.2% who were undecided, it will become obvious that 85.8% of the participants of the poll are not pleased with the membership. 45.5% of them think that nothing has changed in Armenia, and 40.3% think that Armenia has become less democratic for those five years.

- 1799 Birth of Edward Hyoormoozyan of the Mkhitarist Congregation (Armenian Roman Catholic Order) in Constantinople. He died in 1876 in Rome.
- 1901 Birth of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of Armenia's Communist Party, Aghassee Khanjyan. He was one of the many murdered by Lavrentee Beria in July, 1936 in Tbilisi, where he was invited for consultations.
