«PYUNIK» CAN BE DISQUALIFIED FOREVER
Today afternoon Yerevan Pyunik arrived in Yerevan. Representatives of the team don't want to comment on the «Pyunik»'s refusal to play with «Neftchi».{BR}
Yet «Pyunik»'s vice-president Karen Haroutyunyan told a reporter of «Sovetski Sport» the following: «We demanded from the organizers to insure security of our football-players and fans. Last year a fight took place between the players, and some incidents among the fans. I suppose everything will be clear by Thursday.
Russian Football Union has spread а report which says: “Being informed about complicated and unsolved problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan RFU and “Cooperation Cup” organization committee have presented written security guarantees for the players, representatives of the club and fans of both clubs. Organizers were ready to take additional precautions. Unfortunately «Pyunik»'s leaders transformed sports problems into those of politics. RFU is sorry about the decision taken and calls to unit but not split up. By its decision «Pyunik» disappointed thousands of fans».
«Pyunik» has already got technical defeat with score of 0:3: Besides, punishment measures are not excluded towards the club as «Cooperation Cup» are international games and are held under the aegis of FIFA. RFU also informed that “Pyunik”’s participation in further “Cooperation Cup” games is questionable. “Pyunik” may be disqualified of these games forever.
