DEMOCRACY STARTS FROM THE PHYLHARMONY SQYARE
- Today the participants of the civic congress honored with a minute of silence the memory of those who have given their life for the freedom and independence of Armenia. {BR}
“We must form a civic society, we must have a united nation which is truly democratic and where the citizen is the owner of his country”, the leader of the “Heritage” party Raffi Hovannisian announced. He informed everyone that “the Armenian nation is an educated one” and that it has gathered to prove its faithfulness to democratic values.
Speaking about the coming referendum Raffi Hovannisian announced that the process of the referendum is already outlawed, and the necessary result is intended to get by means of threats and pressure.
Leader of the Justice bloc Stepan Demirchyan found the atmosphere of the referendum important. He reminded about the organizers of previous electoral forgeries who have not been punished, about the ban of “A1+” from air and other cases. He voiced hope that the united opposition will win and will establish true democracy in the country.
Leader of the Republican party Aram Sargsyan noted that some people have also gathered in the neighboring square – children who are to sing and their relatives who have come to look at them. “This is the picture – 99.9% says “No” to you”, Aram Sargsyan said. “We shall soon have a new President, Long Live the New President”.
Leader of the party “New Times Aram Karapetyan announced that they have not come to rob people but to restore justice and voiced confidence that they will be successful.
By the way, while the opposition was going to bring tents and wood, a high official of police claimed, “They were allowed to organize the meeting only on November 27, 28 and 29. They did it today. Now we will not allow them to pollute the center of the city”.
